Manager of Sales / Director of Sales (Full-time, NYC)
The Sales team at INF supports the business development, partner management, contractual
discussions, revenue tracking, sales targeting, and minor marketing functions across the
organization.
Depending on experience and qualifications, the Manager or Director of Sales role will entail
complete management of the Sales team for the electric vehicle supply equipment (EVSE)
department (85%), Energy Solutions department (10%), and Lighting Solutions department
(5%). They will develop and maintain all tools, resources, departmental tracking, financial
reporting, strategic planning, and sales employee support for the team. They will also shadow
all sales staff on business dealings for training and development of staff. The applicant must
have substantial experience managing the complete sales process in an
engineering/construction/contracting business. They must be a well-rounded team player with
strong organizational, communication, and software skills.
Job Responsibilities:
- Develop/maintain a CRM (Monday.com) tracking system with clear, detailed steps as
required for each sales employee to understand the process and execute. Manage 8+
sales staff to ensure they’re maintaining a steady project pipeline and managing project.
files/documentation correctly. - Develop/maintain project tools, templates, and documents and track their use and
execution:- Meeting minute documentation.
- Proposals.
- Project Plans.
- Project billing and Accounting.
- Set sales revenue targets and tracking systems, and report to leadership periodically.
- Support the navigation and management (of the dedicated sales employee) the sales
process from prospecting, to lead and opportunity development. - Work in conjunction with design and project management teams through the design
phase to construction through planning, scheduling, and tracking projects. - Strategize with marketing on industry events and/or conferences.
- Ensure the team is executing to a high standard of quality.
- Develop training and guidance for continuous improvement of the team’s sales work.
Experience Requirements:
- Required – sales of Electrical/EV charging supply equipment.
- Preferred – sales of mechanical equipment, commissioning, and equipment retrofit
principles for commercial and multi-family residential buildings in NYC. - Direct management of a 5+ person sales team, supporting them with all aspects of their
work as well as career development, to scale the sales team. - Establishing, tracking, and reporting on sales revenue targets and other financial
metrics. - Managing relationships with contractors, engineers, manufacturers, vendors, etc. ing
- Knowledge of construction/energy codes, Local Laws, and EVSE policy.
- Knowledge of utility incentive programs and equipment qualification requirements.
Skills Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in a related field and 5+ years of experience in sales with financial
acumen. - Preferred – sales of mechanical equipment, commissioning, and equipment retrofit
principles for commercial and multi-family residential buildings in NYC. - Skilled in using various software programs to establish and maintain systems for
tracking: Microsoft Office Suite, Monday.com, QuickBooks Online. - Detail-oriented and organized approach.
- Excellent communication skills (written and spoken) and the ability to work through
project development with stakeholders. - Knowledge of construction/energy codes, Local Laws, and EVSE policy.
- Ability to work under tight timelines and schedules.
